That’s probably why. EVs (and gas cars) lose efficiency above 65mph. You’ll never get the advertised range at higher speeds.
Also, hills, stop-and-go traffic, and short drives can hurt your efficiency. The best range comes from driving at a steady 35-64mph for at least 10 minutes.
Highway miles are tough on EVs. City driving is where they really shine in terms of efficiency.
My car is 2.5 years old with 82,000 km. No noticeable battery degradation so far.
