Turns out that by not going to the gas station, I don’t have that 10 mins block where I generally clean my windshields. By charging at home, I never clean my windshields. /s
Also not getting the wiper fluid refilled for free with an oil change. I actually have to buy wiper fluid.

In the worst periods of winter I use a gallon of wiper fluid every one to two weeks.
@Jason
Sir, this is Texas. Winter is one to two weeks.

But you need an EV with V2L or V2H to survive the grid going down! XD

Outside of natural disasters, I almost never have my power go out in the 3 homes I have owned in Texas. Not nearly as often as many people I know in other areas of the country. In the newer neighborhood I lived in for 5 years, so the power lines were buried so you didn’t have trees and wind taking them out.

I rainx my windows. Over a year and haven’t even looked at the fluid. Rarely use wiper either.
I am oblivious to what’s going on in the world of chocolate bars and energy drinks. Probably better for my waistline though.

Our nearest fuel station has a ‘beer cave’ that I’ve not visited for 6 months, yet another benefit of EVs!
When I owned a gas vehicle I never cleaned my windshield either, so I feel right at home with my EV.

There are two types of people with cars. Those who hate rain for getting them dirty and those who like rain for cleaning them off.
@Amelia
Then there’s those of us that appreciate the rain cleaning them off but secretly hate rain for doing a really bad job of it.
No, the worst thing is getting back into the ICE that you previously loved and seeing what a POS it is.

After driving an EV for months I got back into an ICE and was like ‘is there something wrong?’ I thought I heard some kind of weird noise that maybe indicated an engine problem. No, it just really sounds like that.
@Maria
Literally steampunk, like it has a steam engine in it.
This post (and the comments) are showing me how the EU and US are diverging. I am up in the Nordics, and most gas station chains have figured out the benefit of having fast DC chargers on site—especially the big highway adjacent stations. So road trips are not that different at all—I still stop at gas stations, just in a different part. I still get to go in buy food and coffee, take a wee. Very little has changed on road trips. On the day to day—I see less of it—as I do not permanently own an EV—just keep renting them for longer trips.
@olivia
The weird part about the US is the divergence in charging networks. CCS chargers (used by everyone except Tesla and Nissan although that is changing) are at a lot of different places, but many of them are gas stations.
