I have a 2022 EV6 GT-Line, and sometimes when I touch the door handle to lock, it doesn’t work. Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a fix for it? Also, I’m pretty sure the car doesn’t have an auto-lock feature when you walk away, but if I’m wrong, please let me know.
It sounds like broken wires. I had the same problem where the driver’s side didn’t work at all, and the passenger side only worked sometimes. I took it to the dealer, and the wires from the driver’s side handle were completely cut. There’s a recall to fix this for some cars, but mine didn’t qualify. The dealer replaced both sides under warranty, and it’s been fine since.
@Amelia
Thanks for the info! I’ll call Kia on Monday.
You’re right, there’s no auto-lock when walking away. As for the touch issue, I had the same problem, and the dealer found a wiring issue inside the door. They fixed it under warranty, and now it works perfectly.
I have this issue all the time too! Hoping someone has a solution.
You really have to press pretty hard to feel the click. And yep, no auto-lock for the GT-Line.

Actually, the GT-Line has a touch-sensitive spot, not a button.

That’s odd… mine is definitely a button. I have the 2024 AWD Land GT-Line package 1.
@Jason
That’s because of regional naming differences. The US Wind trim has a button, but in some countries, it’s called GT-Line Package 1. The US GT-Line is equivalent to GT-Line Package 2, which has touch-sensitive handles, a HUD, bigger wheels, etc.
@Jason
Ah, I see! In Canada, we nickname the GT-Line 1 as the ‘fake GT-Line’ because it doesn’t have the electronic handles. The US GT-Line is our GT-Line Package 2.
Thanks! I’ll give it another try. I usually hold my finger on it until it locks. EV6 is an amazing car, but it’s missing some really basic features like auto-lock and wireless CarPlay.

I hear you on that. Wireless CarPlay would’ve been great, but at least a dongle works fine for me. The lack of a built-in dash cam bugs me more though.
@Jason
Yeah, I use a dongle, but I feel like a built-in wireless option would be faster and more reliable. Sometimes my dongle doesn’t connect right away, and I have to restart it.

That’s probably just the dongle you have. Mine connects about as fast as my partner’s built-in system, and I haven’t had any connection problems.
@Jason
Good to know! Do you mind sharing which brand you use? Here’s the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/Teeran-CarPlay-Wireless-Adapter-Converts/dp/B0BBG4QRPX
@izael
This one works pretty well for me. I only have to reconnect it every few months. Also, I’d wait for the AA Wireless 2 coming soon—it might be a solid upgrade.
@Peggy
Thanks, but I have an iPhone, so I’m looking for CarPlay.

AA Wireless 2 should support iOS as well!
@Jason
Sorry, I couldn’t find the exact one in my Amazon order history!
