Depending on your driving efficiency, charging at L1 would take around 20 hours to cover your daily 60-mile commute. That’s a lot, but if you charge at home whenever possible and use public chargers to top up, it’s totally doable.
How far do you drive each day? 380 miles of range is pretty good.

I drive at least 60 miles a day, and sometimes double that. Even though the range says 380 miles, I’m expecting more like 300.

Yep, you’re probably right about the range, especially in cold weather. You’ll likely need to charge every three days or so, assuming 80% charge and accounting for some range loss. If that’s manageable for you, I’d go for it!
Yes, it’s definitely doable. I managed without home charging for a year, and it still saved me money.
You’d probably only need to charge twice a week, so I’d say go for it!
It’s definitely doable, but it depends on how much you want the EV. I’ve always been able to charge at home, but I think if I didn’t have that, I’d still go for it, especially if there were charging stations near my home or workplace. I used to use a public charger a mile away from home and walk back while it charged, and it worked for me. If you’re committed to getting an EV, you can find a way to make it work.
Do you get any charging perks with the car? When I bought mine, I got 2 years of free 30-minute charging sessions, and I use them all the time while my kid is at school or when I’m doing grocery shopping. It helps a lot, and I don’t even have to charge at home as much as I thought I would. Maybe check if there’s anything like that with the Ford Explorer?
If you’re planning to use L1 charging, make sure you’ve got a 20-amp outlet. You can charge on a 15-amp, but it might reset frequently, which can be a hassle.
Just use Tesla’s open-to-all chargers. They charge less than the others. Get Zap Map and look for Tesla locations.

Tesla isn’t open to all yet—only certain manufacturers, and some locations are still locked to Tesla only.
@Nathan
My mistake! In the UK, they’ve opened up some hubs for everyone.
