First service cost for EV6? Anyone else paying this much?

My dealer quoted me about $650 for the first service at 2 years or 30,000 km, which seems pretty high. I’m not entirely sure what’s included. It’s at an official Kia dealership where I bought the car, but I’m considering getting a second opinion, especially since I plan on keeping the car for a long time.

For context, this is in Europe. What have you all paid for your first service?

My 8k mile service was free, and I’m scheduling the 16k mile service soon, which should also be free.

I had to shop around because my dealer quoted me the wrong service price, assuming it was for a gas vehicle. For the EV6, the first service should be minimal—no more than $100.

8k was free, 16k was free too. I’m preparing for my 24k service but no idea what the cost will be yet.

Same here. 8k and 16k services were free for me (in Oregon, USA).

@Nathan
Did they charge you for a tire rotation? I was told the service was free, but they charged me $40 for the tire rotation.

You’re right. I checked, and they charged me $25 for the tire rotation at 8k miles.

@Thomas
What state are you in? I’m in Oregon.

EDIT: Just checked my paperwork. I paid $25 for the 8k mile tire rotation.

My first service was only $12.

I can’t imagine what they’d be doing to justify a $650 charge.

For $650, I’d definitely ask for a detailed breakdown of the costs. That sounds like a rip-off.

My first service was free. All they did was rotate the tires, replace the cabin air filter, and top up the washer fluid.

What exactly are they doing for $650? At 2 years, they should just be checking fluids, rotating tires, maybe replacing wiper blades and the cabin filter, unless you’ve already done it yourself.

My 24k mile service was free, but they did need to do a software update.

I got mine for free because of a service update. Normally, it would have been $39.99.

I haven’t paid anything for my routine service appointments so far.

Service departments are really feeling the pinch with EVs. There’s just so little to do for maintenance.

I paid $700, but they had to clean my brake discs due to rust. I drive mostly in i-Pedal mode, so my brakes don’t get much use. Lesson learned: make sure to use your brakes occasionally!

I’m in the Netherlands, and my first service (30,000 km) cost me 385 euros, including 55 euros for brake fluid replacement.
