Found a green flashing light under the driver’s dash on the left side. Any idea what it could be? It’s a used car, so maybe something added by the previous owner?
It’s probably a security system that the dealer installed. Did you check the wires and see if they connect to another box? Worth tracing it back to figure out what’s going on.
Definitely aftermarket. I don’t have that in mine, and the yellow wire taps are a dead giveaway. Someone added it later for sure.
Sometimes used car dealers install immobilizers, so if you miss payments, they can disable the car. It’s been happening for a while but has gotten more attention lately because of rising car prices.

Could be one of those things?

Looks like I found the box using Google Lens… Seems like it’s a KARR BT alarm or maybe a remote start system. Really didn’t want to deal with this…

I looked into it a bit more, and yeah, it looks like a KARR alarm to me too.
You said this is a used 2022? Maybe the previous owner had it put in during the whole ‘Kia Boys’ theft craze to protect the car.

I’ve got the same thing in my EV6. It’s a dealer-installed KARR alarm that came as part of the Costco Auto package. I noticed the green light too but haven’t checked the box. I don’t care much about it, but since it was free and the whole Kia theft stuff was happening, I figured it wouldn’t hurt. Last time I had an alarm in a car was back in the late 80s, and I remember my parents had to deal with one when their radio got stolen. Not sure if it actually helped back then, but no one stole the new radio after that!
Yeah, that’s an aftermarket KARR alarm for sure. Someone added an extra immobilizer to a car that already has one built-in. Not sure why anyone would do that…
