I’m taking advantage of some rebates and other work going on at my house, so I’m installing a hardwired Level 2 charger in my garage. I’m thinking of getting the Chargepoint Home Flex but can’t decide between J1772 or NACS. I’m planning to get an EV in the next year or so, likely a Kia but definitely not a Tesla. It seems like NACS is the future, and I could just use an adapter if needed. But swapping cables on the Chargepoint isn’t cheap.
I feel stuck with too many options. Can someone help me figure out what to do?

Go with NACS and use an adapter if needed. NACS is the future in the U.S.

I did this and ended up with a J1772/CCS car. The adapter was cheap, and I’ve had no issues charging.

This is the best approach.

Grab some snacks and get NACS!

If you’re going to rely on an adapter, the J1772 to NACS adapter is much cheaper than the NACS to J1772 adapter.

Wait, I thought you said no Tesla products?

Other cars are getting NACS too, not just Tesla.

So, you’re buying Tesla stuff after all?

NACS isn’t just a Tesla thing. You can get an Emporia charger with a NACS connector, for example.

Do you really want to be associated with it, though?

I have no issues with using an SAE J3400 connector. People are overthinking this.
Edit: Looks like someone’s just trolling and blocking folks.

Tesla’s getting more involved in the EV world, like it or not.

NACS is a standard, not a Tesla product that I’m ‘buying.’

They designed it, though. Are you really okay with that?

Some people might have friends who visit and need to charge. Not sure you’d know, though, given how unpleasant you’re being.

Doubt they’d be friends with someone who owns a Tesla.

People who keep trolling like this should just be banned from the forum, honestly.
