Ipdel became weak, not useful anymore

All of a sudden, I-pedal mode became weak, and we ended up using the brakes more frequently (almost every time) to slow down the vehicle on local roads.

The whole family used to love I-pedal driving. It was so convenient, especially in local driving (lots of signals and slow traffic). Now, this feature has become useless, and it feels like driving a normal gas car. :disappointed:

Is anyone else facing a similar issue? Is this because of the latest software update or some faulty sensor? Any ideas? Thank you.

Model: EV6 2023 RWD.

Any time something drastically changes like this, just take the car in… that’s not normal.

You’re probably right. But here are two possible explanations not involving a malfunction.

  1. You’re at or near 100% state of charge. You’ll get little to no regenerative braking under these conditions.
  2. You enabled Auto mode, which I’m pretty sure is not compatible with an I-pedal level of regen.

I don’t feel it all the time, but there are times when I think it should have slowed sooner. However, it’s anecdotal and probably related to my mood. It still works for me, though. What you’re describing sounds more abnormal. I also have a ‘23 RWD.

Does the regenerative braking setting affect how the car acts in I-pedal? Could that have changed either by an update or by someone in the menus? I would check but I’m charging right now.

Yes, it does. On my GT-Line, it’s easy to change the setting by tapping the left or right paddle while driving. Pressing the left paddle multiple times will set it to the strongest setting/I-pedal. Maybe you or someone else accidentally changed the setting or set it to auto.

Good luck!
