Joining the club soon… What should I know?

Watch out for ‘zombie mode’.

Is this where I try to open the ‘frunk’, and the hood bites me? Does it happen if I charge it after midnight or something?

The main issue right now is the ICCU, but there’s a recall to help manage that, though it won’t completely fix it. The 12V battery is another known problem, but it’s an easy fix.

As for wheels, the 21” rims aren’t great—20” or even 19” will work better, especially in winter. Only certain rims fit though; you can see the options here: https://www.kiaevforums.com/attachments/1645553035900-png.2711/.

For the suspension, it’s a bit high. Check out the KW V3: https://www.kwsuspensions.ch/kw-v3-gewindefahrwerk-fuer-den-kia-ev6-gt.

I can’t speak to home charging since I use a 300kW HPC nearby.

I’ve found that finding 21” replacement rims that fit is tough, but 19” and 20” options are everywhere. I’m looking at a 20” Enkei rim and Pilot Sport tire combo for summer, and I’ll probably use the OEM rims as my winter set.

I have KW on my BMW now and really like it. I don’t think I’ll lower the EV6 based on my test drive of the GT-Line, but I may change my mind after some use.

Depending on the color, those will look great.

I’m less picky about color, but my wife wants either white or gunmetal grey. The TSR-X rims I’m looking at would look sharp in either bronze or black.

My biggest gripe is paying for mobile features and over-the-air updates. It’s why I’ll skip Kia for my next EV. Everything else is solid though :slight_smile:

That’s not a huge issue for me. From what I found, most of the subscription stuff is for hosted services, not unlocking features already in the car. I’d be annoyed if I had to pay for something like heated seats, but a service that requires hosting or authentication is different.

Plus, it’s way cheaper than OnStar or similar systems.

@MAKENA
Other companies do it, but not for as many features. Missing out on over-the-air updates is the most frustrating part.

Just be ready to lose most of the app features unless you pay the subscription fees.
