Keyfob re-locks the door as I approach the car … anyone else?

Has this happened to anyone else? I’m walking toward the car, so I hit Unlock on the keyfob. As I get close to the door, the car senses the keyfob (it usually unlocks when I’m nearby if it’s locked, which is a nice feature), but instead of unlocking—or doing nothing—it locks the door again, undoing what I just did. Does anyone else deal with this?

If you don’t open the door within a few seconds, the car automatically re-locks for security reasons.

Yep, if you don’t open the door within about 20 seconds, it re-locks. You might be able to toggle this in the settings.

Happens to me all the time. I’ll unlock to unplug the charger, and by the time I hang up the cable, close the port, and walk to the driver’s side, it locks just before I reach the handle. Mildly infuriating.

Others have already answered, but I’m curious—if you know it unlocks automatically when you approach, why unlock it in advance?

I usually unlock it remotely if my kids are ahead of me, so they can get in first.

@Connie
Got it, that makes sense. Just wondering if it behaves differently if you start the car first?

Yeah, it happens to me now and then too.
