I only drove in the snow once, during a big storm in Vancouver, and the car was super stable. Snow Mode keeps the AWD on and limits acceleration and regen braking to keep things smooth. I just have all-seasons, but for Tahoe trips, you might want to consider winter tires if you go regularly.
The EV6 AWD is the best car I’ve driven in snow. Snow Mode is fantastic. I found a parking lot with a foot of snow to test it, and it performed flawlessly. Even when I tried to spin it, it stayed stable. You’ll love it.
I’ve got a GT (no snow mode) but it’s been fine in winter with careful driving. I added Pirelli Scorpion winter tires, and it handles the Alps like a champ. Preconditioning the battery before you charge really helps in cold weather.
I live in Boston, and while there are chargers everywhere, I had a hard time charging once because no one told me I needed an adapter for Tesla chargers. Also, make sure to download the necessary apps ahead of time, or you’re out of luck if you don’t have service. I once spent 8 hours charging and barely got 30 miles, so make sure you’re prepared. It’s not all bad, but the learning curve was tough.
