It’d be a great family car if it had better range or a lower price. Hard to compete with options like the Equinox EV and Rivian at that price.

Except neither of those brands makes an EV van. Who compares a compact SUV to a van?
People are willing to pay more for the Cybertruck, which has a similar range but fewer features.
VW: ‘Our EVs aren’t selling well; let’s introduce one with an even higher price!’ Not sure how this will help.
Price isn’t the only issue. It’s the low range that really kills it for me. For a car meant for road trips, it needs more range.
I don’t get this product. It’s targeted at families, but most families can’t afford it. If EVs are going to take off in the U.S., they need to be a lot cheaper. I’d love an affordable 7-seater EV that just covers the basics.
The range is an issue even here in Europe. Not very practical for long distances.
I really want an EV minivan, but at this price, it’s hard to justify. I could get a used gas minivan for a lot less.
Just wait a couple of years; by then, you might see these selling for a big discount.
With tax incentives likely ending, this could be a slow-seller that sits on lots for a while.
The price and range combination really hurts it. Plus, it could use a few more cupholders for a family car.
Volkswagen is betting on the ‘cool factor’ here. It’s unique, but if people aren’t practical about it, they might find it a tough buy.
I think some families might look at this for nostalgia, but the price and range make it a hard choice.
