It’s not a bad idea, especially if you use thick plastic. Just make sure to secure it well.

It seems risky since the car needs airflow to regulate battery temperature. Wrapping it might prevent that.

I think it’s due to recent reports about EVs catching fire when the battery gets waterlogged. If it happens outside, your house won’t burn down.

If floodwaters reach a car’s battery in the garage, the house will likely be a total loss anyway. The structural damage would be catastrophic.
