2023 EV6 Wind RWD opinions

Hi, I am looking at this 2023 KIA EV6 CPO, as my return-to-office commute has increased, and my 2022 Mustang GT isn’t as fun in heavy traffic.

The EV6 Wind RWD I’m considering has barely 1,000 miles on the odometer and was a corporate lease, priced at $36,999. I’m hoping to make it an even exchange as my current car is valued similarly. I had the following questions:

  1. How is the ride quality, especially on imperfect roads?
  2. How does Highway Driving Assist perform in traffic and on highways?
  3. Why are some 2023 EV6s priced lower—was there an issue I might not be aware of? The Carfax looks clean.

Lastly, is $37K a fair price?

Thanks!

  1. Ride quality is good. It’s more on the plush side, tuned for distance cruising. Handles imperfect roads well.

  2. Kia’s Highway Driving Assist is one of the best outside of Tesla. The only drawbacks are that it nags you to keep your hands on the wheel and doesn’t always indicate when lane keeping turns off.

  3. $37K sounds high to me. New car buyers get a tax credit that significantly lowers the price, driving down used prices as well. No known widespread issues with the EV6.

Thanks for the reply! I’m looking for a plush ride, and Tesla’s ride is too firm for me. Pricing seems high, but I was thinking of doing an exchange. Should I look for a GT-Line or Wind with the tech package instead?

@MAKENA
The tech package is worth it for the 360 camera, especially since rear visibility isn’t great. Overall, I think the EV6 is the best car I’ve owned. Downsides are the poor quality of the paint and annoying HVAC/media controls, but everything else is fantastic.

I bought the EV6 Wind RWD for more range over the GT, and I didn’t want the piano-black interior finish either. The ride is fine, not harsh but also handles corners well without feeling soft. Highway Driving Assist is great in traffic, but like others said, it’s a bit of a nanny with the hands-on-wheel warning.

These cars are priced lower due to supply and demand, and most had an ICCU recall and some with CV joint/axle issues—both easy fixes. I’d say the car is worth it, but the price you’re seeing sounds a little high.

@Robert
Thanks for the detailed response. Did you compare it with the Ioniq 5, and how was the ride in comparison? Range and interior are big factors for me.

I didn’t test drive the Ioniq 5. At the time, the EV6 was slightly cheaper. I assume the ride is similar since they share a lot of the same tech.

$37K is high. I just picked up a '23 Wind with 25K miles for $26K, including taxes and fees.

$37K is high. In Florida, I’m about to pick up a '23 Wind RWD for $28.5K, CPO with 30K miles.
