I’d love to go all-EV, but I still need a truck. My ‘93 Ford Ranger runs on good old gas.
Compact trucks are perfect candidates for electrification.

Nobody makes small trucks anymore. Even the Ford Maverick is as big as a 20-year-old F150. An EV the size of a ‘93 Ranger could sell well.
@jabali
Exactly! Many small businesses still use those old Rangers. They’d be perfect as short-range EVs.

Agreed! I’m not spending $100K on a truck. Maybe in a year or two, I can find a low-mile Silverado EV at a good price.
After driving EVs for years, ICE vehicles feel so outdated. I’d only go back if I had to for financial reasons. As long as you can charge at home, EVs are far superior.

I rented an ICE car in LA recently, and it was awful. I missed my Bolt so much—even kept reaching for the regen paddle that wasn’t there!
@Christopher
I feel the same when I drive my husband’s ICE car. I accidentally flash the high beams because it lacks the features I’m used to. The slower acceleration and braking make me feel less safe.
Must be nice to afford over $100K in cars.

Not even close. All were leased, and except for the Mach-E, all were under $300/month. The Niro is for our mom, and the first i3 leases were $150 and $178/month.

Does that really mean someone’s rich? Two drivers buying a Camry, Accord, and minivan over 10 years is easily $100K.

There are plenty of EVs under $20K on Carfax. Hertz also had big sales on Bolts recently. Even new EVs are available in the $30K–$40K range.
Why no Tesla? It’s the most popular EV brand.

I’m not a fan of Tesla’s styling, except for the Model S. Both the interior and exterior don’t appeal to me.
That’s a lot of EVs! I’m amazed at how often some people change cars. I usually keep my trucks for 8–10 years.
