Can the 2023 Bolt's own software manage charging (like limiting %, schedule, etc) for free?

I’m thinking of picking up a Hertz used Bolt. I currently have a 2015 VW e-Golf and a ‘dumb’ Bosch level 2 charger. My car will start to charge as soon as it’s plugged in, and go until it’s ‘full,’ stopping only when the car tells the charger to stop. It charges to 100% every time if you don’t manually interrupt it.

When we first got the car, there was an app that could control some things, but it required a subscription after the trial period, so we never used it.

  1. Can the 2023 Bolt EV’s software control a max charge % and delay the start time for charging (e.g., start charging at off-peak hours)?

  2. Can it do this without needing to pay a monthly/yearly fee to access this feature?

  1. Yes. I use the ‘Depart by 5:45 AM’ feature because rates go up at 6 AM, and it works great. Also, I’ve set it to 80% for my own reasons.

Don’t a lot of aftermarket chargers offer these features too? You can get a ‘dumb’ non-WiFi charger where you can set configurations like this.
