Cannot initiate AC charge at public charger

Just got my EV6 (2024 model) lease last week, but I’m having trouble charging at public stations (type 2). I tried to charge it today at a local grocery store’s 16.5kW charger, but couldn’t get it to start.

A few days ago, I managed to charge at an 11kW charger after setting the charging current to 90%, but today, nothing worked. The car shows it’s connected, but the charging app (tried multiple) just sends an error message. No error on the car itself though.

I thought it might be an issue with my payment card, but that doesn’t seem to be the case since it worked fine at a different charger.

Do I need to adjust the charging level for different AC chargers? Or is this another issue?

There’s a button next to the charge port with a lightning bolt symbol that says ‘Hold’ underneath it. If you press and hold it after plugging in, it should bypass any charge limits or schedules you have set up.

@Kenneth
Thanks, but I was referring to the charging current. It’s already set to 100% (I updated my original post).

I’ve never had any issues, and I keep mine at 100% charging current as well. I just scan my phone to unlock the charger, plug it in, and within a few seconds, I get the ‘Charging started’ voice prompt.

Honestly, I’ve found that a lot of public level 2 chargers just don’t work properly. It’s not always the car’s fault. I’ve almost given up on using them.
