Choosing EV6 Light over Wind: a mistake?

My wife has an EV6 Wind RWD with the Tech Package, and she absolutely loves it. Now I’m feeling a bit of car envy and thinking of getting one for myself. But I want a bit more power, which is why I’m leaning towards the AWD version (320 hp dual motors vs. 225 hp for RWD). The problem is, I can’t seem to find any Wind AWD models at a reasonable price, so I’m considering the ‘Light’ version.

The main things I’d miss from the Wind would be:

  • Fabric seats instead of ventilated ones
  • Downgraded sound system
  • No Tech Package features

Are there other key features I’d be missing? Are the Wind’s extra features really that hard to pass up?

Why not flip the script? Skip both the Light and Wind, and go for the GT Line AWD. That way, you’ll be giving her automotive envy!

Or just get the Light and swap cars!

Not sure what model year you’re looking at, but this comparison tool helped me a lot when I was trying to figure out the differences between models.

In my area, I’m seeing quite a few AWD Winds with the Tech Package for decent prices. Are you looking at used ones? Maybe expand your search a bit?

I regret not going for the Wind. Didn’t realize how much I’d miss the full pleather and cooled seats. Also, the power liftgate is something I miss in my EV9 Wind.

The heated and ventilated seats are a game changer. If you can get them, do it!
