Do the tires come with a road hazard warranty/protection?

I’ve been googling around and it’s not clear to me if the stock EV6 (2024 GT-Line) tires have any sort of warranty or roadside protection on them.

About 3 weeks ago one of them was losing air and the local tire shop patched it for free. They pulled a bolt out of the tire.

It was great until this morning and now it’s losing air again.

The car has less than 5000 miles on it and the tread is still strong so replacing the whole tire would be a pain if the patch can’t be repaired.

I’ve looked through all the paperwork from the dealer and it didn’t help either.

Thanks!

I don’t believe the tires come with road hazard coverage. You can call your dealership and ask. I had a nail in mine during the first 4 months, patched it, and it held. When I patch a tire, I use a plug kit and slime the tire. For a bolt, your tire shop should have done a back patch inside, not just a plug.

@Michael
I might have used the wrong term—patch vs plug—the tire shop did it, so I hope they used a back patch. Taking it back to them tomorrow to see if they can fix it. Thanks!

Not to be rude, but I’ve been burned a few times. Always better to ask and confirm.

@Michael
Not rude at all! Like most of us here, I love my car but try to avoid the dealership as much as possible.

I’ve been to three out of four Kia dealerships within 30 miles of my place, and all were prime examples of why car manufacturers should ditch dealer networks and sell direct!

The Kumho warranty doesn’t cover treadwear or road hazard for OEM tires.

Ok, thanks.

It costs extra, but you can get tires warrantied at Discount Tire. I always do it for new cars. Roads are terrible where I live, and I always end up with a flat within 3 years.

I’m in California, so we call them America’s Tire (same company, different name). They’re my go-to, but the town I moved to doesn’t have one, so I tried the Les Schwab here.
