EV6 Charging Issues… Anyone else?

I’m running into a big problem with my 2022 AWD EV6—it just won’t stay charging. I’ve tried both my 120V and 240V sockets with different chargers, but after about 20-30 seconds, it stops and shows a ‘Check electric vehicle system’ message. Has anyone else seen this?

Yeah, same thing happened here. I got my 12V battery replaced recently and had all recalls checked out. Worked fine for a few days, then bam, got the same message and my charging’s limited to around 60%. It’s at the dealer now. They told me one of the battery cells is faulty and might have to replace the whole battery.

@Ronald
They can probably just swap out the faulty module in the battery pack. You’d need a specialist for that kind of work, though.

How long does that kind of repair usually take?

@Ronald
Just a guess, but maybe a couple of weeks. It can depend on parts availability and the dealer.

:sweat_smile: Plus, the dealership is new and doesn’t have rental cars or agreements with local rental places yet.

Got an update—they’re replacing the whole battery. No ETA on the new one yet, though.

Sounds like it could be the ICCU issue. Definitely get it checked at the dealer.

Yeah, sounds like the ICCU problem. It’s actually under recall, so you should have it towed to the dealer for repairs.

A temporary fix might be to disconnect the negative terminal on the 12V battery for a couple of minutes. It could reset the system.

This might be a battery cell deviation issue. If that’s the case, one of the high-voltage battery modules will likely need to be replaced.
