EV6 RWD in snow and ice… how does it handle?

Looking for feedback from anyone who’s driven the EV6 RWD in snowy or icy conditions. How does it perform? Any tips or experiences you can share?

From the looks of it, the EV6 RWD handles just fine in winter conditions.

Thanks for sharing this! It’s definitely reassuring to see it in action.

I use Blizzak winter tires, and I’ve had no issues at all. I live in a place that gets around 8 feet of snow each year.

That’s great to hear. My partner has been a bit nervous, so this will definitely help put her at ease!

I’ve driven my EV6 RWD in snowy, slushy conditions with temps close to 0°F, and it’s handled fine. The key is having good winter tires and being smooth with your throttle, braking, and steering. The car’s weight distribution is well-balanced, so it doesn’t feel prone to understeering or oversteering due to weight shifts.

Driving an EV in these conditions is a bit different from a gas car. The motor’s response to throttle input is very precise, and traction control doesn’t give the same auditory feedback you’d expect in a gas car. When traction control limits power, you don’t hear the motor straining—it just quietly holds back. That takes a little getting used to, but it’s not a problem specific to the EV6.

I can relate! The lack of noise got me stuck in the sand at the beach in my Niro. I didn’t even realize traction control was holding back until it was too late.

It’s fantastic with winter tires. And if you’re feeling adventurous, Sport mode is a blast—it’s perfect for some fun drifting around snowy corners!
