Kia Service Center says they “Don’t Do Software Updates”?

So, I took my EV6 to Fowler Kia today for the ICCU recall and asked if they could check out the muted rear speakers issue while they’re at it. Also mentioned a software update, and they told me they “don’t do that here” and I’d have to get it over-the-air. Problem is, I don’t have the premium subscription, so OTA isn’t an option for me.

I looked months ago for a USB download but couldn’t find that option anymore. Is this normal?

I’ve been dreading taking the car in because I expected this kind of service. I had the car in last year over the 12V battery issues because it kept dying, and they did nothing. Ended up buying a battery jumper to keep in the car and even paid $300 for a new battery just so it wouldn’t die on me. Love the car, but why is Kia’s service so frustrating?

Wait, you have to pay for the OTA connection subscription?
