Mercedes E350e plug-in hybrid losing charge fast… is this normal?

Hi everyone, I just got my new Mercedes E350e plug-in hybrid a few days ago. I charged it fully on the first day and didn’t drive it, but when I checked the next day, the battery had dropped to only 6%. I thought maybe I’d done something wrong, so today, I left it on charge until 19:30, and it was full.

However, after driving it about 500m, I checked the battery again, and it had already lost around 23%. Is this kind of battery drain normal, or should I take it back to the dealer for a check? Anyone else experience this?

Check the photos, please.

These photos were taken within a 10-minute difference. I drove around 1km, and suddenly the charge dropped almost in half.

That seems like an unusual amount of battery drain, especially if it’s happening over such a short distance and without heavy usage. I’d definitely bring it up with the dealer just to be safe.

Some battery drain is normal, especially in colder temperatures, but 23% in such a short time sounds a bit extreme. Do you notice this only when parked, or does it also happen while driving?

Could be a software issue or a fault with the battery. New hybrids should have minimal drain when they’re idle, so I’d get it checked. Could also be worth seeing if there’s a firmware update available.
