MG iSmart app stopped updating my MG ZS EV data—anyone else?

Has anyone else with an MG experienced issues with the iSmart app recently? My app worked perfectly since I bought the car in 2022, but a couple of days ago, I noticed it stopped updating when I tried to check the range from home.

I tried several things: unbinding and rebinding the car to the app (which worked partly as I saw the login on my car’s screen) and reinstalling the app, but still no updates or options to interact. Now, the digital key won’t work either, as I can’t enable it without a full app connection.

Any ideas if it’s an issue with the app or the car itself? Anyone else dealing with something similar?

Have you checked the manual for troubleshooting? Try ‘rebooting’ the car—sometimes it’s all that’s needed.

Good idea. I know there’s a way to reboot the infotainment system, so I’ll try that first.

Mine is working right now, but the app can be finicky. I often have to refresh it once or twice before it shows any data from my car.

I once had an issue with pre-heating, but it eventually got sorted out. Hopefully, this isn’t a full app bug causing the whole system to stop working!

Best bet might be to check with the service center. They’d be able to dig into it if it’s a bigger issue.

Yeah, that’s probably what I’ll end up doing.

The MG iSmart app might be under maintenance. I got a notification about it. You should check with the service center too.

Did you get a notification from the app or the service center? I haven’t seen anything on my end.

The app connects to your car through MG’s server. Sometimes, I feel like their office cleaner accidentally unplugs it while vacuuming!

Try rebooting—it might just be a glitch. If that doesn’t help, definitely head to the service center.

Visit the service center so they can update the system. Avoid trying to do it yourself!
