I am looking to downsize my car payment from my Audi A4 Allroad. While I love this car, my daughter is gonna need daycare in a little over a year and… need I say more? I’ve noticed there are several sub-30k mile 2022 or 2023 EV6 Winds within a couple hour drive from me. I have driven an Ioniq 5 before and liked it. Gonna go drive a newer EV6 at a dealer close to me just to make sure I still like the platform.
But assuming I do, I am probably gonna pull the trigger on this. Obviously the 10 year / 100k EV component warranty transfers, but should I be worried about anything else? I know the ICCU issue can be a thing, but a Kia dealer can look up if it’s been done. I’m not particularly worried about that as it seems it has been solved via recall. I know that the 12v battery can be an issue and to upgrade it as soon as possible.
Is there anything else? Am I missing something? Because this seems like I can be driving a fantastic EV for less than half what I paid for my car and still keep the hatchback usability and have space for my daughter. I’ve seen some people have issues with the amplifiers / MMI. Is that a common issue? Tell me what I’m missing here lol.
If you liked the Ioniq, you’ll love the EV6. It’s honestly night and day for me. I tested both and for some reason the Ioniq feels like a tinker toy comparatively. Just something about the design is decidedly less comfy and feels like it might fall apart at any moment. Whereas the EV6 feels like a spaceship to me. We got the GT-Line, so we have some more bells and whistles than the Wind package, but I can’t imagine it’s much different in feel. Even if I’m not using the sunroof, heated/cooled seats and such, it just feels like more car for your money. I know under the hood it’s the same, but my buddy has an Ioniq, and any time I ride with him I think what a good decision we made. I’ve never given two shits about what I drive. A car was always just a means of getting from place to place. This car hits me different.

Did you buy yours new? Have you had any issues with it?
