As a new EV6 owner, I’m wondering if it’s bad for the vehicle to use the regen braking paddle shifters while moving, rather than at a stop. I’m concerned it may put stress on the vehicle, or maybe I’m overthinking it.
You can use the paddles anytime. The car’s motor controller continuously adjusts torque, so the paddles just alter the regen mapping. There’s no harm in using them. It’s built to handle that.
I’ve been using the paddles on my PHEV for over 2 years with no issues. The car is designed for it. Feel free to use them.
It’s fine to use the paddles, but be cautious in snow or slippery conditions as it could break the tires loose when slowing. Use Snow Mode for reduced regen in those conditions.
Did you know the left paddle can act as a full brake? It’s handy, but I’m not sure if it’s only available in auto regen mode.

I’ve only used the left paddle to enable one-pedal mode. Haven’t tried holding it for full braking yet.
I used to use the paddles but now I leave regen at level 1 and use the brake pedal, which also activates regen.

I didn’t know the brake pedal triggered regen. I usually turn regen down when I have passengers because the transition from regen to friction braking can be harsh.

The paddles only do regen, so they’re helpful when driving in areas where you need to adjust braking frequently, like on country roads.
Thanks, everyone! Good to know.
