Should I test drive the EV6 or run away?

I’m planning to test drive the EV6 this weekend, along with another car, but I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately about 12V battery and EV issues. Is this something I should be concerned about? Are these problems more common than they seem or just rare cases that get highlighted on forums? Any advice would be appreciated!

Once you drive the EV6, you’ll want to buy it.

Put it in sport mode and floor it… then welcome to the club!

It feels like a rocket.

My balls ended up in the trunk!

@Mark
Put them in the frunk. That’s where they belong.

Good idea!

Loving the confidence! How’s the turning radius? It seems wider than others, and that’s a big factor for us.

It’s got the turning radius of a small truck because of the long wheelbase, not the car’s width.

@Maria
I noticed the same with our GV60. I guess they share the same platform.

Yup, same E-GMP platform.

It depends on what you’re used to. It’s wider than my wife’s Mini but smaller than our Honda Odyssey. Probably the only weak point of the car.

The turning radius is good for the car’s size. You’ll get used to it. And the 12V battery can be fixed with an AGM replacement.

Turning radius is fine. You’ll love the GT-Line.

It’s about the same as a Subaru Outback. Pretty good for its size.

If you’re used to larger sedans like the Camry, the EV6 will feel similar.

@Randy
Interesting! We currently have a Camry and think it has a decent turning radius.

There was a bit of a learning curve for us, coming from a 2016 Optima. But it didn’t take long to adjust. We’re a year and a half into our lease and loving the car.

It’s not as bad as it seems on the forums. Check for all the ICCU recalls, and if you’re worried about the 12V, just get an AGM battery. It’s a fantastic car.

This. People love to complain more than praise. I LOVE my GT-Line, though I wish I’d gone with AWD. The i-Pedal resetting after reversing is the only thing that bugs me.
